"Undefined" Bryan & Nay Nay
August 23, 2016|Marquita Bianca
What happens when as a fan you listen to one of your favorite artist and you come across a track that they collaborated with an artist that you may not know of but now you secretly love. My first experience with Bryan includes no shoes, a ukulele, and a live acoustic session that left me purchasing his 1st album “Living in the Image” on the spot. Yes, a ukulele….I’ll get back to that part in a little bit. After purchasing the album and stumbling across the “Living in the Image” track featuring Nay Nay I felt like something big was about to happen. I finally met Nay Nay in person at our recent Arts Out Loud and after seeing the duo up close and personal I’m pretty sure you know that my first question was where can I purchase whatever album that contained this awesomeness! I had no idea about the stage the EP was currently in or even how long at that point that they had been collaborating but to my excitement Bryan responded that their joint EP "Undefined" would be released on August 6th. I'm pretty sure after I did the cartwheel in my mind my next response was I'd like to preorder right now. Considering how impatient I am Bryan was gracious enough to drop off all 3 albums that I ordered (1 copy to give away, 1 personal copy and 1 copy of his previous album to give to my mom). On a quick note about this ukulele, just as unique as Bryan is the way his mind works when creating music. After his performance I just felt like no one else could make the ukulele cooler than Bryan Mahon. So like every other person who obsesses I told my dance teams that an appropriate Christmas gift would be a stoned out ukulele ...sad to say it hasn't happened yet (maybe they are reading this LOL). I'm sure I've been living under a rock in just now discovering Nay Nay's music(even though I had heard about him numerous times) but the intentional journey I'm on to discover new independent artist and celebrate their hard work it just makes it that much more worth it. Can you imagine all that we haven't heard?
I started my journey in this EP with “Brand New Day” completely out of order at Track number 3 but considering I was riding in my truck on a 90 degree how appropriate to listen to a song about celebrating life’s little things and having no worries. It actually put pep in my step. The rest of my day was spent bouncing between “Never let go” and “Life without you” dabbling in what love is but what collection isn’t complete without great love songs. Not just any love song but the one where you know that the situation of love you are in is not the one for you. I just love it from the perspective of these two. Now after having the album for a few weeks I find myself using “Flightless” as an anthem. No matter how long or where you are in your journey as an artist you can identify with not being believed in by the people we want most. Indeed the perfect song to bring it all together.
Bryan and Nay Nay make what feels like a complete team. One that may seem unlikely but then when you hear them you think…perfect! Both equally talented, equally as passionate, and equally as driven we could also insert tons of personal comments about them being down to earth and just really great people to know. For this it makes me proud to say that I’m a fan. When asking Bryan how it felt to collaborate with Nathan on this project he said "Nathan and I have always been good friends since the day we met, so the idea of throwing different genre's together really didn't seem foreign to me, but with any other person, I probably would have never considered doing this project. Writing the "Undefined" EP with Nathan was interesting for me; the way I see it, we come from two different backgrounds of music, yet we were able to meet somewhere the middle. The differences in our interests also made this EP an educational experience, everything I've learned over the past so many years really came into practice when making this album.
So how did this work? Where did you start? I had so many questions to ask. I’m completely enamored when artists can find a match. When creating projects that allow them to be themselves on their own turns. Doing it solo absolutely a no brainer, doing it with someone with a completely different style than you is another story. I asked Nathan what the writing process was like for him and Bryan. “The writing process with Bryan comes very naturally. When two artists come from different genre backgrounds and want to collaborate on something together, things cannot be forced to work. If it doesn't come together naturally then the end product sounds cluttered and pieces clash. That's why Bryan and I would just hang out and mess around with ideas and whenever one of us came up with something the other was feeling, we just went with it. He would come up with these melodies on his guitar and they would have a certain vine to them that I would just immediately know what I wanted to write about on the songs.” Explained perfectly by Nathan it made it easy to imagine a day in the studio of them writing together. With such a successful match I asked Nathan how he felt others could do the same. “If other artists are looking for a great collab-match, I'd suggest they try working with someone who they are comfortable with. Not every idea one comes up with is going to suit another artist, so to keep things from clashing, you have to be comfortable enough to let the other artist know that.”

August 18, 2016 Middle Tennessee Music Interview
Interview with Nay Nay – Undefined
by Joshua (J.Smo) Smotherman August 18, 2016 12:33 pm
Nay Nay & Bryan Mahon are a rapper-singer duo from Virginia Beach, VA. The two have developed a unique style that bridges the gap between genres. Their chemistry as musicians can be seen in their compelling live performances. Together they have opened for acts such as Trey Songs, Diplo, Timbaland, Travis Scott, Jidenna, Mase, Lil Dicky, Daya, and more!
In this interview, we discuss influences, their newest project, and more.
Full Q&A, links, and a stream of Undefined and their video Living In The Image below.
Let’s dive a little deeper into You, the artist and your music. What attracted you to this genre(s) or style(s)?
I am a hip-hop artist. I have always loved the direct approach that many hip-hop artists take with their lyrics. I feel that draws focus to the lyrics of songs to really make the listener pay attention to what the song is talking about and drive across the idea they are trying to convey.
My latest project though with my friend Bryan Mahon is not what I would consider a hip-hop project. Bryan Mahon is more of an acoustic musician and singer. For our collaboration project, I wanted to step a bit out of my comfort zone and try something new. We decided to blend different genres, taking elements from hip-hop, pop, acoustic, folk/indie, and punk rock, and incorporating them into the most prevalent genre we were experimenting with, which is alternative. So I took something that originally attracted me to hip-hop music and used that with a different genre. The outcome was pretty innovative and I really enjoy how it turned out.
How long have you been creating and sharing your music with the public?
I have been creating music and sharing it with the public for almost 5 years now. Bryan and I recorded our first song together at the end of 2013, and we have performed publicly together frequently since.
Who or what influences your playing and/or writing? Also, what motivates you to keep going?
I listen to all genres of music, and I feel that to an extent, everything that I enjoy in a song influences me in one way or another. I notice that my writing style is somewhat influenced by whoever I am frequently listening to during a time I am writing a song. But I am constantly listening to different artists so it isn’t really anyone in particular.
Positive feedback is definitely something that keeps me going, whether it is from family, friends, or fans. There’s nothing quiet like the feeling you get when you see other people enjoying something you created.
Were you trying to accomplish anything specific on this new project? Creatively or otherwise?
My latest project is the collaborative EP with Bryan Mahon titled “Undefined“. I don’t think we had anything specific in mind when creating this project, we just wanted to make good music. We wanted to try something new and different, and I think we pulled it off well.
The EP consists of five songs, with each containing a different vibe. I personally feel that the content is lyrical and relatable, while at the same time being catchy and sonically-appealing. There’s a love song, a break-up song, a “feel good” song, an anthem type track, as well as the opening track “Living In The Image” which is completely unlike anything I have really listened to before. There is something on this EP for everyone. I think that is something we both wanted, without ever actually declaring it to each other, and I feel we accomplished that.
What was the last song you listened to?
“Unsteady” by X Ambassadors
Which do you prefer? Vinyl? CDs? MP3s?
All three have unique qualities to them.
Vinyls are great because of the collector aspect associated with them.
MP3s are fantastic because of the accessibility and little space they take up.
However CDs are my favorite because they can easily be exported as MP3s while still being a physical product that can be held. The booklets and artwork of a CD have a lot of time and effort put into them and can add a whole new piece to a project that many miss out on when they don’t have an actual CD.
How about this one…. Do you prefer Spotify? Apple Music? Bandcamp? Or something else? Why?
All digital distribution companies, whether they are used for streaming or downloading, serve a good purpose. I don’t prefer one over the other.
Other than the digital era overwhelming us with access to an abundance of music, what are one or two of the biggest challenges you face when trying to attract listeners to your music?
One of the biggest problems is getting people attracted enough to give the music a listen. In today’s society you need to find a way to market your music in a way that catches people’s attention, otherwise they won’t spend the couple extra seconds to even click on your song to see if they would even like it. Making good music and just putting it out publicly is not enough to get people to listen.
Do you gig, tour or perform? Do you ever live stream? Where can music lovers see you live?
Both Bryan and I perform fairly frequently at local venues (around Virginia Beach, VA), both together and individually. Some of our biggest shows have been at the annual music festival Shaggfest, where we have opened for acts including 50 Cent, Trey Songz, Diplo, Travis Scott, and more.
Where is the best place to connect with you online? Discover more of your music?
http://www.naynaymusic.com/ is probably the best place to go online. I have almost all of my music up there, as well as my show dates and links to social media accounts. It’s basically a portal to anything you need related to my music. I update it frequently so you won’t miss out on anything.
Any last thoughts? Shout outs? Words of wisdom?
It may sound cliche, but I’d like to thank everybody who has taken the time to listen to my music and support me.

August 9, 2016 GrizzlyGround "Undefined" EP Review
NAY NAY & BRYAN MAHON
August 9, 2016 | Becca Calhoun
Virginia Beach rapper-singer duo Nay Nay and Bryan Mahon recently released their first EP Undefined just in time for listeners to enjoy the last few weeks of summer. With a style vaguely reminiscent of Shwayze, this duo is capturing the essence of the beach through their melodies, while captivating listeners through their upbeat lyrics.
As someone who has been following Nay Nay and Bryan Mahon in their individual pursuits, it’s safe to say that they have truly found their niche together. This symbiotic relationship between Bryan’s seamless vocals and Nay Nay’s unique rap delivery is redefining indie acoustic rap.
Diving right in, Undefined opens with one of the duo’s more well known songs— “Living in the Image” before slipping into a newer track, “Life Without You”. This song features an intriguing melody composed of acoustic guitar and violin (added by Eric Stanley) creating a new layer dimension to the song. Nay Nay is in the pocket (so to speak) with the pace on his delivery in this track showcasing how much he has improved since his 2013 release Long Road Home.
"Brand New Day" is a relaxing gem on this EP with a positive message about embracing new days and shrugging off the little stresses in life. The catchy guitar riff compliments the descriptive verses to help paint the perfect image of a solid day on the beach. In the latter half of the song, the percussion eases onto the track enhancing the already strong instrumentals. I recommend listening to this song while cruising around on a warm day with the windows rolled down.
"Never Let You Go" is the following track and also a love song with heaps of sweet lyrical content. The EP then closes on a "Flightless", which is easily one of my favorite tracks off of the album. The verses contain a sort of biographical narrative of Nay Nay and Bryan's struggle to find their way in their musical paths and the criticism they face in doing so. A particular highlight of this song is the sharp contrast between Bryan's vocals and Nay Nay's harder interruptions in the chorus. Perhaps another reason I really enjoy this song is because of the irony it possesses. The lyrical content touches on the criticism they face, but this is some of their best music to date. In fact, I was shocked the first time I started listening to this EP because of how much each of them have improved and how well the two complimented each other.
Bryan and Nay Nay are indeed the pilots now and if they continue on this path together they will never be flightless again. This is a duo to watch.

Shaggfest Unites Local and National Hip-Hop Acts
Anika Williams - Contributing Writer
Music festival season is in full effect, and excitement is astir as music lovers from all walks of life unite to celebrate their favorite musicians this summer. On May 21, the 757’s own Shaggfest proved to be a tremendous success as it has grown exponentially in its six years of operation.
This annual event began as an outlet for local musicians in the area to gain exposure. The popular Z104 radio host Shaggy is the director, promoter and creator of Shaggfest. He works hard throughout the year to audition local talent and recruit national acts for the event, a process which is taken seriously, handled with love and approached with care.
The Tidewater region of Virginia is a harbor for incredible music. It is home to notable artists and groups like The Neptunes (Pharrell and Chad Hugo), Clipse (Pusha T and Malice), Missy Elliot, Timbaland and most recently game-changing artists like D.R.A.M. and Goldlink.
This year’s Shaggfest included a vast line up of local artists who performed on side stages to possibly reach the status of the artists mentioned above. A few were worthy enough to grace the main stage, including ODU junior Nathaniel Swihart, also known as Nay Nay, a hip-hop artist from Virginia Beach, and Evan Barlow, a sonically charged hip-hop artist from Richmond.
Main acts included Daya, Lex, Bia, Rotimi, Lil Dicky, Pusha T, Travis Scott and Major Lazer, a group which includes Grammy-winning musician, DJ and producer, Diplo.
Lil Dicky was a key catalyst for the night. The comical rhymer brought his charismatic charm live to the stage as he performed songs from his debut album “Professional Rapper,” including the ever so popular “Save Dat Money” featuring Fetty Wap and Young Thug.
Although it was early in the evening, Lil Dicky got fans amped. A lucky lady received an impromptu dance from him during his performance of “Lemme Freak.” Subsequently the unconventional rapper awarded her a vegetable tray for her participation.
Shaggfest has a reputation for bringing out special secret acts of the past. The audience was in for a flashback when Petey Pablo arrived and performed songs like “Freek-A-Leek” and his verse from Ciara’s “Goodies.”
The biggest surprise, however, was the highly unexpected G-Unit reunion that took place. The crowed rocked and moved to their favorite songs. Just as everyone gave up hope of 50 Cent’s arrival, he graced the stage like a cherry on top of an already sensational set. In addition, 50 Cent performed his new song, “I’m the Man,” off his latest mixtape, “The Kanan Tape.” The crowd chanted the words as cannons shot out a spontaneous crowning of golden confetti.
Virginia Beach’s own Pusha T addressed the audience simply with two words: “I’m home.” The now president of G.O.O.D. Music began his set where it all started with “Grinding,” a song he released in the duo Clipse along with fellow Virginia Beach native Pharrell.
In the spirit of legendary rapper Biggie Smalls’ birthday, Pusha T performed “Untouchable,” which samples from the late artist. He performed other songs from his album, “Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude,” and made an announcement of a new album.
Travis Scott brought his rodeo to the fest. Fans in the pit chanted his name long before his arrival. The “Antidote” rapper just got off of Rihanna’s “Anti” tour and was one of the most energetic acts of the night. Known for high intensity, his show lived up to all of the hype. He worked the stage, stood on speakers and even jumped off of the platform and performed amongst the crowd beyond the pit balancing on rails.
Diplo changed the whole dynamic of the night. The space became a complete dance party with vivid lights and lasers that were hypnotic and bold visuals to accompany the sounds for the night. A mix of electronic, hip-hop and pop rained down on the arena.

Shaggfest has lots of top acts -- and a secret special guest

It's Shaggfest weekend in Virginia Beach, and once again the master of ceremonies has a trick up his sleeve.
Shaggy, the Z104 radio personality, has put together a top-notch lineup for his sixth annual music festival at the Veterans United Home Loan Amphitheater in Virginia Beach. He's got Diplo and Travis Scott and Pusha T on board, as well as more than two dozen other local, regional and national acts.
And he's got a secret guest.
He said that last year and it turned out to be Timbaland.
He says this year's is even bigger, but he doesn't plan to reveal the name until that secret guest star steps out on stage Saturday. (Hint: It's a Grammy winner with record sales measured in the tens of millions.)
Diplo and Travis Scott will headline Shaggfest this year"If you had called me a month ago and told me who would be showing up for Shaggfest, it would have made no sense," said Shaggy, whose name is Brandon Stokes. "When the secret guest came together, they wanted me to kick a couple of local acts off the main stage to make time, but instead I shaved some off some time between acts and I made it work. I didn't want to disappoint anybody."
Shaggfest features a lineup of performers that covers a lot of different genres, with something for everyone.
Rebel J. Rose, a Hampton High School graduate whose style ranges from hip-hop to hard-rockin' soul, has been gaining local attention in the past year and will be performing for the first time at Shaggy's show.
"Shaggfest opens people up to all different styles of music," Rose said. "There's a lot of creativity, and he doesn't just stick to one thing. A lot of big concerts, they're rock or pop or R&B. Shaggfest is a music festival — period. It's entertaining all the way through."
Rose will have at most 15 minutes on stage, but he plans to make the most of it. He has been releasing a series of videos that capture some of the energy of Lenny Kravitz, and his live performances have been well received.
"The No. 1 goal is broadening my fan base," he said. "I'm trying to grab one fan at a time. In this case, it's multiple fans at a time. Playing Shaggfest will really open up new opportunities."
Nay Nay, a rapper from Virginia Beach, played on a Shaggfest side stage last year and will move to the main stage this weekend. He will be playing with guitarist Bryan Mahon, with whom he has formed an interesting musical partnership.
"I do the hip-hop stuff, and he is an acoustic singer," Nay Nay said. "We both do our individual music, and together we form a duo that blends genres. I guess it's acoustic hip-hop. It comes together really nicely."
He said they plan to release a CD sometime soon.
But first, Nay Nay (real name: Nathan Swihart) is looking forward to his return gig at Shaggfest.
"Last year was definitely an amazing experience, because I grew up watching my favorite artists at that venue," he said. "Once I started doing music of my own, the goal was to perform at a sold-out show there — but last year it was almost unfathomable to be up on that stage.
"I was extremely excited, but also very nervous. This year, the nerves haven't struck me. Just pure excitement. It's a welcoming back feeling. I'm comfortable. It's my hometown. I've just got this feeling that I'm connected with this place."

Up & Coming Artist: Nay Nay
By Taylor Rubright
Nathan Swihart, better known by his stage name Nay Nay, is a hip-hop artist and songwriter from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is currently scheduled to perform on the main stage at the annual music festival Shaggfest, alongside acts suchs as Diplo, Pusha T, Travis Scott, and Lil Dicky. This is Nay Nay’s second year in a row performing at the event, opening last year for headliner Trey Songz.
You may be familiar with Nay Nay from his associations with the recently dispersed label Funk Volume. He has released multiple singles with former Funk Volume artists Hopsin and SwizZz, leading up to the release of collaboration tape including all of Nay Nay’s work with Funk Volume artists. Nay Nay performed at the Virginia Beach stop on the Funk Volume 2012 Tour and also opened for Dizzy Wright during his solo tour in 2013. He has a cameo appearance in Dizzy Wright’s “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work” music video which has received over one million views.
Nay Nay has achieved his own success separate from his associations as well though. In 2015 he independently released his debut album, Lost In Space and received positive reviews from critics. Nay Nay developed a large following in his hometown by performing frequently at venues across the city. With only a handful of music videos released, he has surpassed 100,000 views on youtube.
Nay Nay is also one-half of the rapper-singer duo Nay Nay & Bryan Mahon, which was formed during the summer of 2014. The two artists have developed a unique style that bridges the gap between genres. The duo will release their first EP titled “Undefined” during the summer of 2016.

March 2015 Interview
VIRGINIA BEACH INDEPENDENT RAPPER NAY NAY AND SINGER-SONGWRITER BRYAN MAHON TO PERFORM SHAGGFEST 2015 THIS SUMMER
Posted on March 18, 2015
INTERVIEW BY JOE FITZPATRICK
Though you probably haven’t heard of NAY NAY yet, this 20-year-old rapper from Virginia Beach is on the verge of breaking out of the underground and into the eyes and ears of the mainstream local community. After paying his dues in the local music scene, NAY NAY and fellow Virginia Beach musician BRYAN MAHON have been selected to play Z104’s annual music festival Shaggfest, which is hosted by the namesake of the festival, Shaggy — one of the radio station’s main DJs. NAY NAY recently released his debut album Lost In Space, which chronicles his life as an independent artist, as well as the struggles he has had to overcome to get where he is today.
Congratulations on being selected to play Shaggfest this summer at Farm Bureau Live in Virginia Beach. What do you feel like has contributed to your success in getting to this point in your career as a musician?
The support of my friends and family has been really beneficial to getting me this far. Without them, I don’t think I would have stuck with making music to reach this point.
What are you looking forward to most about performing at Shaggfest 2015?
Mainly, getting my name out the community. It’s going to be the biggest local show that I have ever done, and it will definitely be something that I am always going to remember. I’ve been going to the [Virginia Beach] amphitheatre ever since I was a little kid watching performers and dreaming of being up there one day. I never thought it would happen this soon. The whole experience that I have the opportunity to go through by doing this is what I’m most looking forward to.
In February 2015, you released your debut album Lost In Space. What is the significance of this album to you, and why did you choose that title?
It is my first project with all original content. Before this point, I have only released mixtapes consisting of production of other artists, and none of my other recordings were really professional. I started recording only with the laptop mic. Then as I [progressed], I ended up [building] a home studio. So this is my first professionally done album; it’s mixed and mastered. I had never really done any of that before, and it’s definitely really important to me being as I’m taking this seriously. It’s definitely a gamechanger to have a legitimate project to [release] to the masses.
As for the significance of the title, I’ve always been really interested in astronomy and the unknown. Subconsciously, when I was writing the songs, they were having lines that would relate to [outer] space before I had even come up with the album title. Then I found that the album title fit really well (laughs).
On this album, you worked with a variety of producers, including LasiK, Creation, LexiBanks, Seany OWE, and 6ix. Why did you choose to work with each of these people on Lost In Space?
LasiK is a artist that I had found on a hip-hop forum, along with Creation, and I really enjoyed their styles of production. The way that they produce and the sounds they have are very unique. Seany OWE I found on a separate music forum, and he is a very young artist. I believe he is 16; his way of producing is very advanced for his age. They were very helpful in the creation of this process. I had ideas that I wanted certain songs to sound like, and I would give them ideas for beats. Then they would take that and put their own twist on it creating something that was bigger than I was expecting.
6ix is a producer of one of the artists I listen to quite often, LOGIC. I got in contact with him through Twitter quite a long time ago, and he sent me some beats. The title track is the one that he produced, and it’s really cool to me that I am able to work with a producer of somebody that I have looked up to. I found LexiBanks on a website, and I really liked the sound of their beats too.
Is there any track in particular that stands out to you as a personal favorite?
“Daps and Pounds” is my personal favorite track just because of it’s such a fun song to do live. The crowd really responds well to that song, and I had such a fun time recording that one. It all just came together so naturally.
I saw on your Facebook page that you frequently collaborate with the singer-songwriter BRYAN MAHON, who is also from Virginia Beach. Can you tell me about how that relationship came to be?
BRYAN MAHON is actually one of my best friends. We began working together at the local Regal Cinemas movie theater, and on the first day that I started working, he had already been working there for quite some time. He asked me [about] my hobbies, and I told him that I rap. He was really interested in that because he is a singer-songwriter. He plays guitar, ukulele, many instruments, and as time went on we became close friends.
About a year ago, we did our first song together. It was a remix of the song “Power Trip,” and the chemistry on that song really worked together for us. From that point on, we started a duo, which is a side-project for both of us. We both are still doing our own thing, but we frequently do shows around the area together. Instead of doing my full beats, it’s an acoustic rap that we do, kind of similar to SHWAYZE. He is actually going to be performing with me at Shaggfest.
Do you have any recordings of your collaboration project?
On YouTube, you can hear the recording of “Power Trip.” It’s also on Soundcloud. On Lost In Space, he is featured on the songs “Hustle On” and “Shoot for the Moon.” We have a lot of songs that we have performed that we have not recorded. He has an EP coming out soon, and there is a song that he wrote called “Living in the Image” using the ukulele, and I am on the remix of that, which we should be recording very soon.
You have a wide selection of music videos that you have created. Is that an important aspect of your career as a musician?
That is a side benefit for me. With my music I pretty much do everything on my own as an independent artist. I write my own lyrics; I record it all myself; I create all the artwork; I do the videos; and [I do] all the promotion. It’s all me at this point just because I don’t have the resources, but I enjoy doing them all. The videos are fun because I get to put a visual to the words that I create. It’s definitely something that I want to continue and learn and grow with, but at this point in time, it’s not a main focus for me. It’s more of something to support my music.
When are you releasing your next music video for your song “Hustle On?”
The video is mostly shot. It’s probably about 80 percent done. The concept of the video is to persevere through struggles that we are facing, and it’s got me and Bryan in the video, [as well as] a local artist Alex Venezia. He is working on a painting but is struggling with it at first, and then at the end he gets it completed. The other part that we have not been able to film yet is a friend of mine is going to be surfing and not doing very well at the beginning and finishing by riding an amazing wave. Once it is shot, it shouldn’t take long to edit and then release.

Lost In Space Album Review [March 2015]
ALBUM REVIEW: LOST IN SPACE BY NAY NAY
Posted on March 13, 2015
ALBUM REVIEW BY JOE FITZPATRICK
Though he is no stranger to the rap game, 20-year-old Virginia Beach resident Nathan Swihart, who prefers to go by his nickname NAY NAY, is on the verge of breaking out from unknown independent artist to local celebrity. In February 2015, he released his debut album Lost In Space, which combines his personal easy-going style with the various producers he worked with, including 6ix, who is the most well known having worked for the hip-hop artist LOGIC. The first track, “Star of the Show,” really sets the scene for the album, providing the listener insight into NAY NAY’s flow that’s simultaneously laid back and aggressive. The soul of the background vocalist’s voice provides a nice compliment to NAY NAY’s autobiographical rhymes about him coming up as an aspiring rapper.
The fourth track, “Daps and Pounds,” stands out as a reflection of the preceding and following tracks, showing NAY NAY’s style and swagger. Though at times he comes off as a bit nerdy, it is not necessarily a bad thing, and he uses it to his advantage. As a song about confidence, it shows through each verse, and it will surely get your head bobbing. NAY NAY’s album really hits a climax with the title track “Lost In Space,” which is easily the most hype and aggressive track. This song is a party song, and there is no mistaking that. Yet it will be enjoyable whether you are listening to it in your car on the way to work or getting turnt up at the bar.
Combining classical elements with a modern flair, NAY NAY is definitely an artist to watch out for. If you are a fan of MAC MILLER, KID CUDI, or CHANCE THE RAPPER, you need to listen to NAY NAY.

Combining classical elements with a modern flair, NAY NAY is definitely an artist to watch out for. If you are a fan of MAC MILLER, KID CUDI, or CHANCE THE RAPPER, you need to listen to NAY NAY.

Virginia Beach native Nay Nay is now on the Hip-Hop list of artists-to-watch.
In just a very short amount of time Nay Nay has created a significant amount of buzz about his name by just himself. No record deal. No manager. Just a kid with wits and a dream. (And let's not forget talent!) He is a rising star in a sky full of dead dreams. From early beginnings he had people doubting he could make it in the music industry, but with his newly released album "Lost In Space" catching attention from people across the globe, there is no doubt that he will be making a splash onto the main scene of music very soon. Don't believe me? Check out the songs and see for yourself!
Nay Nay has directed and edited all of his videos himself. Truly a jack-of-all-trades.

His song "Nicotine" is a metaphorical masterpiece.

Nay Nay had already caught attention from world famous Hip-Hop artist Hopsin in the earliest stages of his career. Hopsin and label-mate SwizZz can be heard featured on some of Nay Nay's previously released works. Here are a couple of those worth checking out:
